Objective and Philosophy

We are living in an era of worldwide awareness of rapid changes and challenges. In the pulse of such an intellectually vibrant and globalized world. EDU emerges as a forward-thinking new force in higher education. With the pressing necessity of facing these changes and tackling these challenges in view, EDU initiates BA (Hons.) in English. It is a comprehensive and compact program of language, linguistics and literature. BA (Hons.) in English at EDU aims to prepare students with knowledge, skills and expertise necessary to build up rewarding careers in a wide spectrum of professions in the 21st century of global connectivity. It concentrates on selected major authors and works, literary genres, literary periods and movements, theoretical schools and development in British, American and other literature in English.

The curriculum is designed on the basis of the following five major sections:

Application Requirements

SSC & HSC

  • S.S.C & H.S.C/equivalent Public Examination with a total GPA of 5.00 or above with at least 2.50 in each examination.

  • S.S.C & H.S.C/equivalent Public Examination with a total GPA of 6.00 or above, if the GPA in any of the examinations is less than 2.50 but not less than 2.00

  • Must have Mathematics and Physics with no less than grade 'C'

O LEVELS/ A LEVELS

  • 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level with a total minimum of 26.5 points.

  • Students who have passed GCE A-Level or the American High School Examination or the International Baccalaureate Examinations are also eligible for admission. The University may take other systems into consideration.

  • Must have Mathematics and Physics with no less than grade 'C'
